House Rules

Simple guidelines to help everyone enjoy a peaceful, comfortable stay at Seaside Cottage.

We want you to feel completely at home during your stay. These rules are here to protect the cottage and ensure future guests have the same wonderful experience you do. Most are common sense — we’ve kept them short and clear.

Arrival & Check-in

  • • Check-in from 4pm (earlier if the cottage is ready)
  • • Please let us know your estimated arrival time
  • • Self check-in via key safe — code sent the day before
  • • Parking available on the driveway (2 spaces)

Pets Welcome

  • • Well-behaved dogs are very welcome (max 2)
  • • Please keep dogs off the furniture and beds
  • • Clean up after your dog in the garden and on walks
  • • Dog bed, bowls and treats provided

No Smoking or Vaping

  • • Strictly no smoking or vaping inside the cottage
  • • Please use the designated area in the garden
  • • A £100 cleaning fee applies if smoking rules are broken

Noise & Quiet Hours

  • • Quiet hours: 10pm – 8am
  • • Please be considerate of our neighbours
  • • No parties or large gatherings without prior agreement

Kitchen & Appliances

  • • Please wash and put away dishes before departure
  • • The Aga and oven are straightforward — instructions provided
  • • Compost bin for food waste (we’re trying to be green!)
  • • Fresh milk, bread, tea & coffee on arrival

Heating & Hot Water

  • • The wood burner is a joy — seasoned logs provided
  • • Central heating timer is pre-set but easy to adjust
  • • Please turn radiators off in unused rooms

Rubbish & Recycling

  • • Black bin for general waste (collected Wednesday)
  • • Blue bin for recycling (paper, glass, plastic, tins)
  • • Food waste goes in the compost caddy
  • • Please take any large items home with you

Departure

  • • Check-out by 10am on your departure day
  • • Please leave the cottage as you found it
  • • Strip used beds and leave towels in the bathroom
  • • Lock up and return key to the key safe
